STEPHEN SIDELINGER

Embroideries

After twenty years of embroidery Sidelinger’s workmanship becomes finer and more elaborate with each piece. His interpretation of contemporary themes of embroidery and the ornamentation of fabric has resulted in exquisitely all-hand embroidered stitching that conveys his distinctive visual language in the designs of the threads. These hand embroidery paintings are vibrant in color and intricate in design. Every detail is elaborately worked out with commercial cotton embroidery floss using only the satin stitch on canvas with a myriad of new inventions on this tradition.
